POINT OF ORDER!

I accessed the September 28 Board Meeting using Go To Meeting. President Steve Anderson was also using Go To Meeting to attend and VP Barry Rubinson chaired the meeting. The meeting was marred once again by technical difficulties. The sound would disappear for long periods of time and clearly it was frustrating for those on line including President Anderson when he could be heard screaming, ” POINT OF ORDER, POINT OF ORDER!” Only those of us on line could hear him. And his point of order was legitimate as Barry Rubinson ran a terrible meeting.

The two biggest issues I heard when able to hear were about Greg Swenson and other board members defending Thresh Hold Funding or attempting to defend their use of this inferior method by citing “cash flow gibberish.” The good news was two board members voted no( on the Main Reserves assessment) if I heard it correctly. Will have to wait for the minutes but no thanks to Barry Rubinson nor Secretary Meredith as to not taking the vote and recording it by Director since it was not unanimous. The other issue was the restaurant and accounting for it. Didn’t hear the vote on the operating budget portion but Greg Swenson’s pledge to answer all questions of restaurant numbers was left wanting. No big surprise. Don’t you love our politic? Claim transparency then deflect, deflect, deflect! The only way to determine restaurant performance is with a fully transparent monthly” one sheet” accounting tied to budget. If this board won’t give it to homeowners then perhaps a new board will. Perhaps a new COO will. It’s her responsibility to begin with. Upward delegation needs to stop.

Hopefully the current board incumbents serving their 2nd year will not seek reelection as they have done enough damage and a new board majority can be elected to begin to fix the underfunding of reserves in the 2025 Budget. Elections matter. The pocketbook you save may be your own. Until next time…. Robert
