KINDNESS vs. COMPETENCE!
| This years SCA Board Election has the “status quo” folks pushing Kindness as to what is critical in selecting board candidates. Those seeking a change are promoting competence. The kindness pushers want to portray critics as malcontents and unhappy people and want you to choose kind candidates over competent ones. No one is cheering the accomplishments of Steve Anderson. In fact they are deflecting his failures by promoting how kind he is. He is kind. He and I had a breakfast a while back and he was kind. I bought breakfast making me generous? None of that matters when it comes to looking out for homeowners best interests. We all agree we live in a great community. This fight is nearly all about the mismanagement of resources. Your money. Ricard Arendt went to NEXTDOOR to make the Kindness pitch for Steve Anderson. David Berman who also supports Sandy Seddon and Steve Anderson reposted his Arendt’s pitch on his blog. Unfortunately, Mr. Anderson’s track record does not seem to align with these necessary qualities.Without delving into an exhaustive list, it is worth noting that accountability for significant mistakes should be a consideration for voters. Criticisms of SCA should not automatically warrant negative labels, as there are valid concerns that deserve attention. Dick Arendt’s support for Ms. Seddon and Mr. Anderson does not negate the financial implications of her management decisions, which have reportedly cost SCA a substantial amount of money. Additionally, the approval of a restaurant under Mr. Anderson’s oversight has resulted in significant financial losses, for which he shares responsibility. The underfunded reserves and overspending during his tenure will likely have repercussions for homeowners. While there is more to discuss, these three issues are of significant importance. As someone who has served as a Director, it is clear that competent management, protection of homeowners’ rights, and financial responsibility are paramount. The many endorsements for John Marshall, Ben Leibson, and Forrest Quinn, who are not only skilled businessmen but also kind individuals, suggests that the community has viable alternatives. By electing individuals who prioritize the community’s best interests, we can hope for a positive outcome for SCA.” Well said.
