A UTILITY ANALYSIS REVEALS BIGGER WOES FOR YORKTOWN GRILL!

Some of you may remember President Steve Anderson’s pledge to include utilities and insurance in the overall cost detail of the restaurant. Then he reneged on that promise. I was curious as to how big a problem it was. How much more could it be that we are not acknowledging?

The Restaurant has operated full months of September 2023 through January 2024 for which accounting data is available on website. So I conducted an analysis comparing budgets and actuals for those past months for 2022 and 2023 .

Here’s what I discovered, Electricity wasn’t a big issue nor was water and sewer. Maybe both of these together cost another $24,000 annually I estimated. That’s not so terrible.

On the other hand look at Natural Gas.

Well what does this show.? It shows that variance analysis was really required especially in Decembers. But for the purposes of this analysis GAS UTILITY Restaurant EXPENSE is running between $10,000 and $15,000 a month. That’s between $120,000 to $180,000 annually and with insurance, free Spirit ads costing lost revenue, water/sewer and electricity and more these items alone are equal to the entire $200,000 budgeted loss for 2024. I previously called the 2024 Budget Bogus and a fraud. It’s worse than I thought. And Steve Anderson and Sandy Seddon are the failed leaders that have allowed this. We must fire them and the only way to get that done is electing a new board majority. Electing John Marshall, Ben Leibson, and Forrest Quinn will retire Steve Anderson. Then it will take 4 votes for the board to give Ms. Seddon notice and they should.

Elections matter. WAKE UP SCA! Yorktown is dead and a new board majority must act to clean up the mess. I have warned that the 2025 Assessment if done properly is going up dramatically and the longer it takes for a new board majority to act the worse SCA’s financial affairs will get. They didn’t create the problem but you must give them a chance to fix it. Heads should roll! It’s up to your votes to make that happen. And check on neighbors and friends. Did they vote? Did they deposit or mail it? We can do this and we should.! Call everybody you know if this matters to you. It matters to me because it is the right thing to do and I just called out to you!
