DAVID BERMAN: THE SMEAR MERCHANT FIRES A BLANK!
| David Berman refers to me on his blog as a dissident as if that is a pejorative. Pejorative means expressing contempt or disapproval. A dissident is a person who opposes official policy especially that of an authoritarian state. I am a dissident by that definition. I oppose SCA’s official policy of not providing transparency by providing access to monthly financial statements if requested by homeowners after the financial statements have been delivered to the board. I am on the right side of the law there and I did state that members of both the Finance Committee and Audit Committee who don’t support the rule of law ought to resign or be fired. And I stand by that position which The Smear Merchant purposely misrepresented to his readers .And I also stand by my support to replace General Counsel Adam Clarkson for what I and others believe has been wrongful legal advice on the monthly financial statement requirements. He also uses his skill set to ensure SCA’s authoritarian state is protected. In addition I said even if you don’t buy the legal push back on monthly financial statements, committee members ought to support transparency as nearly 100% of all medium size and large size HOA’s around the country make it their standard practice for monthly financial statements with variance analysis. And for trained accountants this is such an easy task. I also stand by my position that Sandy Seddon, the overpaid incompetent Chief Operating Officer ought to be replaced because of her failures with hiring and cost overruns and general upward delegation tactics to the board. And the board reacting to her incompetence just unlawfully hired a Deputy COO. Read the tea leaves folks. Not only do I stand by replacements but I have presented overwhelming evidence to the candidates in support of replacing Clarkson and Seddon. I don’t own the candidates as Berman smears ; I respect them to do the right thing should they be elected. They are free to draw whatever conclusions they will after being elected with your help. They deserve your votes as they are well qualified as documented in their flyers. Berman’s smears are well known to lots of previous candidates. It is also my hope that if they get elected that they will reverse the current bad board policy on monthly financial statements. I believe they will. As it relates to the NRED settlement agreement ,I have addressed it many times when smeared. Read it. Lots of allegations are there but no findings of any guilt. In fact I led the effort successfully to return $1.2 million of surplus funds to homeowners. In addition I helped overturn the same type of authoritarian governance our community is facing with the current board majority. For those who attended the Restaurant Catering meeting that tyranny was on full display. You’ve heard the expression you can not make an omelet without breaking a few eggs. I did help break a few eggs in Anthem Highlands which did lead to the NRED settlement agreement that I voluntarily signed along with others. I am proud of my service to that community as I am proud of what I am trying to do to get SCA on the right track. I take on the big fights. In the settlement agreement signed by Department of Real Estate, Administrator Joseph Decker and I disagreed on only one point. NRED wanted me to agree to a 10 year ban on serving on any HOA board in Nevada, I wanted a lifetime ban as I never wanted to serve on a HOA board ever again. I caved and took the 10 years which makes me eligible in 2026. LOL! Never happen. And as result of my efforts Anthem Highlands elected a competent board before I left. I am proud to be a dissident in SCA as labeled by Mr. Berman. I fight for Truth, Justice, Financial Responsibility, and an Administration that respects homeowners rights and the rule of law. We must do better. The failed leadership of Seddon, Clarkson and Anderson must be replaced. Assessments for 2025 are going to be a bit scary because of past and present financial irresponsibility by the current board majority. We need a new board majority to mitigate damages as much as possible .Cast ballots for John Marshall, Ben Leibson and Forrest Quinn. This election isn’t about me, it is about you. We can do this!…….
