NEXTDOOR NONSENSE!

Homeowner Colleen Hicks on Next Door while posturing in support of the restaurant said:

“ How much do pools, pickleball courts, club rooms and theaters make annually? They aren’t designed to make money, The point here is amenity. Yorktown is now designed to break even or make a small profit, as an amenity. SCA is a luxury community with luxury amenities. Person’s not interested in supporting community amenities can find communities with limited amenities to live in.”

A respondent to her said:

“ Actually if it was designed to break even or make a small profit then we could find common ground. Those are just empty words based on reality and how it was pitched to homeowners. The other amenities you mentioned are stable financial models easily predictable.

Persons not interested in being financially responsible whether luxury or not ought to find other communities to harm.

The numbers now show a disdain for financial responsibility and projections are not based on any fact pattern. They are smoke and mirrors. We will just have to wait and see what the future holds. And it it doesn’t produce what you claim it will then what?

Again the question is how big must the losses grow to warrant a shutdown? Project that please.

The other “amenities” do not require any such calculation.”

Folks it will be a minimum of one year before anything can be done and there will be a lot more data to evaluate. I would hope that supporters of the restaurant contemplate at what level of cumulative losses does it make sense to close the operation. Every other restaurant operator in that space had to make that decision. Maybe this time it will be different as SCA is now the operator.

Until next time….Robert
