TIME FOR A GOOD SPRING CLEANING!

The Palace Intrigue began today when COO Sandy Seddon sent out a cryptic message that no one understood. Ironically it took insider David Berman to disclose that the Communications Director had been fired. Think of the irony and the humor as Seddon’s communication needed some work. In addition Berman disclosed that the Activities Director and Theater Manager were also fired.

So what’s going on? On NEXTDOOR Dick Arendt would neither confirm nor deny that has received any benefit from the upgraded theater project. Are these events connected?

Does any of this connect to the upcoming board election where some candidates and homeowners openly call for Sandy Seddon to be replaced? I do. Payroll bloat has been on my list of needed changes. With CFO position open as well doesn’t it make good business sense for SCA to put everything on hold to see if a new board majority is elected and then let the new COO make any hiring decisions based on a review of staffing needs.

There are calls now for President Steve Anderson’s resignation posted on NEXTDOOR. And yet he seeks reelection. Are we that uninformed to entertain that thought? I certainly hope not. If so , shame on us.

Anderson and Seddon have colluded to mismanage capital projects to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars. In fact now Anderson is attempting to micromanage the pickleball court debacle as they await a change order. Seddon has again accomplished her upward delegation and Anderson has taken the bait. Neither are qualified to handle construction matters. Seasoned construction folks say the change order is going to cost a lot of money. This dynamic needs to be halted and a competent board and a competent COO need to be installed.

The restaurant is bleeding at( $50,000) a month loss with February results expected to maybe be worse. Board solution is to call a meeting of homeowners and discuss what to do. They don’t listen to homeowners anyway e.g. credentialed Craig Walmsley and tennis courts. Let the new board deal with all matters so that this current board majority and Seddon don’t make matters worse.

With these recent firings it is imperative that a new board majority trigger Seddon’s termination notice upon taking office to give time to transition to a new governance plan.

WE NEED A THOROUGH SPRING CLEANING! Major decisions ought to be put on hold till the new board majority is installed in 45 days. Ballots are mailed in a week.

What a mess! The new board majority if we are fortunate to get them elected will have their hands full. Elect JOHN MARSHALL, BEN LEIBSON and FORREST QUINN!. The sooner the better. The status quo ought to be unacceptable.
Until next time…Robert
